    • a gorgeous set of images. Do you know the name of the flower?

      • Queen of the Nile, Agapanthus.

        • I googled Queen of the Nile, Agapanthus. and guess who came up as the second link? Laurakh on flikr. I knew it was OUR Laurakh because of the bottoms up duck image. The interwebs sure are making the world smaller every day.

Lovely set, I hope you are planning on framing and hanging them on your wall.

    • thank you all! glad you liked them. 🙂
thanks @rsjackson for the info. i really like to know the name of the flowers i photograph, so it’s much appreciated when someone gives the name of a flower or an insect. 🙂

      • Hi Grethel ! I just saw this !
You are most welcome ! My mom had these in the yard when I was growing up. I believe there is also a white one.
If you don’t mind my asking, what lenses do you use and what is your favorite ?

        • when i travel, my 18-200mm is a must and i bring along my 35mm since it so light. but while i was shooting these flowers, i kept telling myself that i should have brought my 105mm macro – though i’m happy with how the 18-200 captured these flowers.
so, i guess macro is my favorite. i’m just so fascinated with those tiny, microscopic living things. 🙂

          • Thanks for sharing Grethel ! I agree, your 18-200 did a wonderful job ! I too, love macro and seeing what my eyes cannot. I’ve been using a 100mm macro and still wish to get closer. Might have to get a reversing ring. Your images are always so super crisp and clear. Everyone here enjoys seeing your work !

            • likewise, it feels great sharing photos with a bunch of people who take awesome photos (like you.) so i really appreciate all your comments.
yes, that’s the thing with macro – once you get close, you’ll feel the need to get closer! what’s better, a reversing ring or a close-up filter? i was thinking of getting a teleconverter, but it’s so costly…

              • Awww, thanks !
Perfectly described ! Closer and closer and….
I haven’t done any research yet. In budget recovery ! I’ll probably just tape a little plastic magnifying glass to my lens ! Haha !
If you check these out before I do, let me know what you find. Ok ? Thanks !
