Allows Edits? YesVery very nice still life. I wish I could see this even larger. I like the lighting and colors. I like the bits of crumb in the foreground. The cloth is nicely arranged, giving the sense of being casual when it may have taken 4 or more runs to get it like you wanted it. I’m not sure how I feel about the red onion on the right and especially the bit just above (part of the onion?). I seem to want either more of it or less. I might want to consider doing what may be a bit of noise reduction work on the pitcher. I had considered having the spout more to the left but thought it might upset the angle of the handle. I’m generally struggling with coming up with anything because it is so very good.
I am a little worried about the apparent rust on the knife though not from the standpoint of the photograph. What kind of bread is it and what sort of flour did you use?

I like it a lot Valery, but as Steve said above, the red onion seems a bit off, maybe better without it?

Allows Edits? YesAfter another look at this, I’m not sure I agree about the onion. Yes, your eye is drawn them, but the centre of interest is very obviously the bread and the size of the pitcher is working to counterbalance the brightness of the onion. You could potentially pull down the whites or highlights of the onion to make it even more balanced, but I’m not sure it needs it.

Allows Edits? YesI agree with the others, Valery, that this is very beautiful.
I like the red onion, but it looks like the light is a spot, not diffused, which seems different from the bread. Is it possible to add a bit more light to the onion, below and including what is lit now? I also wonder if the black spots on the knife are distracting from the bread? Have fun!

I always enjoy your still life’s Valery.
For me the star is the open face of the loaf and the red of the onion pulls my eye. If that’s what you were going for, then it works. If it were mine I’d likely crop out the onion and tame down the brightness of the loaf face. I’d rather see some cheese or butter but I guess that’s just me..

You’re right Rob @reyers
The onion was added as a color spot to counterweight otherwise “boring” color pallet. Cheese/butter would serve the same purpose – good idea!-

I like all of the image @valeryp. The fact that you have cropped the image tight overall (knife, towel) negates any comment on the onion crop. I feel the crop fits the image perfectly. Everything appears to support the bread, from the lighting to the knife pointing to it. The lighting and image highlights emphasizes the bread and draws my eyes continually around the image. Nicely done.
