Allows Edits? YesIt works and it’s gorgeous.
Though I do wonder why you always crop so tightly? Is that something you do intentionally or is it an autistic choice?

In my toolbox the cropping is one of the most powefull tool: I start and finish editing with it but sometimes I go too far …but it always the artistic choise.
Thanks for the feedback-

Allows Edits? YesI just noticed that my speech to text software rendered that as autistic rather than artistic. Oh dear..

Allows Edits? YesValerie I really like this composition with the mortar & pestle waiting for the garlic cloves. I especially like how the roots are scattered about.
I also tend to crop close. But agree you may want to try a wider crop, e.g., not cutting off the top of the pestle. I find the mortar & pestle interesting, so would suggest a bit more of light on that, at the same angle as the light on the garlic (straight on).
Out of curiousity, are you right-handed? I’ve noticed that often the dark area of your images is the left or upper left, and the light tends to be on the right side. Not a problem, just an observation.

Anne @annehornsby
Your observation about the way i lit my sets is right (well done by the way) but for another reason: it’s because of space limitations of my ‘studio’-

Allows Edits? YesThat makes sense, Valery. I have a similar space challenge for lighting in my basement space.
Rob – hah! I wish I were Sherlock Holmes! Maybe I’d be finished writing my thriller by now.

I would agree on the little larger crop and my preference would be to see a little more detail in the shadows, but that’s just me.
