Allows Edits? YesI’ve been getting into some online tutuorials by a guy who talks you through the step by step process to create some amazing images. No creative input from me other than the raw image of a scowling mate’s face. The lessons are excellent for teaching you all about Photoshop tricks and techniques and how to understand it’s multiple mysterious tools. This project used ‘displacement mapping’ (that’s how the wooden texture layer follows the face contours) as well as how to create the halo.

Interesting Graham. Photoshop has so many rabbit holes to go down. This one looks fascinating.

Allows Edits? YesHi Rob, ‘rabbit holes’ is a great way to describe navigating Photoshop. I figure after playing with it for a few years now, I’ve touched on about 2% of what it can do and 1.99% of that is from doing online tutorials like this one where you are shown tools and techniques you didn’t even know existed.

Allows Edits? YesCheers Patrick, you’re right about the fun and creativity. I tend to lose myself in it sometimes, at the expense of going out and taking photos. Finding a balance is the key I guess 🙂
