2026 Porch Photography

Last Year I was Posting a series of photos all taken from my back porch using my Motorola G5 Cell phone, It was a learning experience for sure.
I actually could squeeze decent photos out of rather cheap and technologically lagging cell phone.

This year I’m switching it up and using a OMD EM1 MARKii with a Leica DG  Vario – Elmar 100_400 f4-6.3 attached to it.
A lens I decided to give another chance as I had in the for sale box as it’s not sealed very well and has some internal dust.

So as last year the dogs are a central feature of the Back Porch.

Molly, Sundance, and Molly again,  In Sunset Lighting, Guiness was off screwing around somewhere.

Miss Molly Bee is watching someone sneaking over the hill

And getting pretty Close

Something that’s Not Allowed.
So She’s taking care of business.

These critters ( Pronghorn Antelope ) Literally run close to 6O MPH
they are the second fastest land animal on the planet only to the cheetah that can do 70, but unlike the cheetah they can keep it up for multiple miles

And here is the Launch

And Now We’re Pretty Much Flying Across the Pasture traveling over 20ft in each leap at a blistering speed.
This one really has to be seen large, no feet are touching the ground.

Wow, that launch photo is amazing.  I had no idea a species of antelope is the 2nd fastest land animal!     The 3 shots of the 100-year old building are great – I think they would look great mounted side-by-side in a frame.

Question – the next to last image with the bare soil on the mountainside – why is there no greenery?  I forget which state you live in.

Thanks Anne, I’m in Wyoming, there actually is greenery on that hill, it’s a trick of the light , the foreground is a tad greener as it is irrigated, but in full daylight they are all nearly the same color.

The Thing about using my phone Last year was the lack of zoom capability, I did swith up and mount the Zukio version of this lens with a 2x booster lens for some of the following bird photos.

It was a cloudy gloomy day filled with intermittent rain but my wife had put out the feeders the day before and we had lots of visitors.

A Brewers Blackbird, Beak still dirty with treats.
