Allows Edits? YesMore looking for feedback on the balance of this photo. Don’t want to say more than that.

Allows Edits? YesThe center rock is begging for some minimalism which makes the rest look busy, for me its throwing the balance off and not allowing for a feature focal point, there is something more with the balance of the color tones (be they grey scale), but a quick look at the sky at full size, instantly tells me it was a iphone shot and they have been tweaked by the software in an unnatural way.

While not a perfectly even distribution of elements, the photograph uses visual weight, dynamic elements, and tonal variations to create a balanced composition that feels stable and engaging.
Overall, there’s a compelling tension between the solid, grounded rocks and the fluid, energetic water.
Nice Work Rob

Allows Edits? YesIt may be off-balance with all that weight on the left, but I like the framing. I love the scene. Even like that small bit of black sand lower right.
As Robert says, The clouds upper right are a bit darker than seems natural. I usually get that when I add a bit of threat to a scene. The cliff face on the left has an obvious silver line running along the edge-usually the result of too much contrast added. The splash of the wave back there is also dark where it should be light/white.
It’s a dynamic image that can convert to a wall hanger.

I feel that it needs to have more on the right.

I’m with Diane on this one Rob. For me the aspect ratio doesn’t feel right for this scene. I also agree with the halos on the rocks. I kind of question the vignette and the darkening of the top of the big rock in the lower left too. Most of the darks have been crushed losing much of the detail. Here’s a quick edit of where I might go with it if it were mine…and it’s not of course.

Allows Edits? YesOooh – the sharkies are hungry this week. This is useful – I knew it was “off” but I love this forum for articulating my thoughts on shots like this.

Allows Edits? YesFYI this is all part of my quest to develop a reliable way to process BW images from the beach during the day. As you can see, the originals are usually pretty mundane, but I try to keep the histogram in check which can be a bit tricky in these conditions. Then off to Lightroom!
