Allows Edits? Yes@candida-tate I would play with this in Lightroom a little – first things I would look at is making the bird stand out against the background a little more (probably by darkening the reflections and/or dodging the bird)

Very lovely picture. My suggestions would be to crop out the out of focus greenery in the front to the first log. I would also crop some of the space on the left to bring my heron more to a third of rule corner. I would daren and desaturate background and increase the light on the heron.
It is for you to see if you have enough res and sharpness to crop closer.
Good luck.

I’d also crop it closer but I have an idea you’re going to loose too much image quality. I have a suspicion that this would look way better in a larger (screen) size. How about uploading it to flickr?

I have it on Flickr, there is the link. Thank you for the suggestions, I agree with cropping and making the bird stand out more. @yumarena, I am unfamiliar with daren? My purpose for joining this forum is to develop my skills so all input is appreciated and welcome. -

By daren, I meant darken.
