Well I am surprised to be here as landscapes not my thing. Not that I don’t like them, far from it, however have not had any real success and keep to other things in my photography. Nevertheless, here is one that I think is reasonably passable. Glad of any comments and/or suggestions! 🙂

Allows Edits? YesLooks good to me Jim, the colors make it look like a watercolor when small, nice.

I’d say this is more than “passable” and that if being there and rendering an image that resonates with you, who’s the judge that says “not successful.”
The panorama crop highlights the expansive nature of the site. It also excludes what might well have been more foreground and sky than needed. This seems right to my eye. You’ve left just enough above the promontory so that it doesn’t feel too crowded. You have multiple leading lines, all heading in the same direction: the railing of the boardwalk, the fence line, the two small rises that make a nice “v” that shows the path. The two rises on the hill on the left make a nice pair and they don’t poke their heads above the line into the water background–a nice detail that’s hard to do and which I seldom manage other than by accident. The horizon lines–there are 2–are both near the center of the frame and some may advise against that. Here, though, there are so many other details that it doesn’t matter at all to me.
There are 2 very tiny vehicles on the shore. They give a nice sense of the size of the expanse. I wish they had been something other than maintenance vehicles but they’re s small that hardly matters at all.
I say “well done.”

I think you’ve found another of your photographic strengths Jim. Really like the composition and the people on the left and the vehicles really add to the scale. This isn’t ST so all I’ll suggest is a little more punch could add to the drama. It’s perfectly fine as is but you’ve got lots of room to play with.

Allows Edits? YesA really nice one Jim – perfect composition of leading lines – beautiful light – I like the desaturated palette. Would probably also work very well in black and white.

Allows Edits? Noit’s a busy comp., but the lines converge and flow through the image from the bottom (left, right and center) through the S curve where the water and beach meet and up to the peak, which is your main focal point in the landscape. so it works great.

Allows Edits? YesThis is almost painterly. Love the fence pointing to the coi. Love the colours. Really good stuff.
