        Hi all,

I’m on holiday in Dorset (UK) this week. The weather should hopefully be okay for some evening coastal landscapes. Particularly excited to try shooting in the blue hour as haven’t tried this before! I’m sure many of you have lots of experience with blue hour shooting: How do you find it, compared to golden hour (other than darker, obviously!).

It is the best time to make some dreamy long exposure landscapes Craig. Enjoy the holiday and look forward to seeing what you photograph 🙂

it’s darker, and the shadows (if there are any) are softer.  you can get some really nice blue tones, and even some purple.  take a tripod and be prepared for long exposures.  i’d suggest scouting out your compositions ahead of time, if possible.

don’t underexpose, you’ll just make the noise worse.  but, be prepared to bump the whites in during editing.

24mm.  5 sec, f/3.2, iso 800.  tripod and cable release.
