I incorporated the comments on my first try with this picture. I added a tighter crop to eliminate some of the distractions. Bumped up the exposure and contrast, and added some burn/dodge to add a little depth. Let me know what you think.

Allows Edits? YesThis is heading towards being an interesting photo, but I am not sure where the center of interest is. The brightness draws the eye to the clouds. But then there is that large dark bush. Not sure where to look.

Allows Edits? YesHi, Levi. I basically agree with Rob, there’s plenty to catch my eye (beautiful sky), but I feel like it needs something in the foreground that can serve as the focal point. Maybe the silhouette of a person looking up at the sky with arms outstretched? Something that communicates the wonder of cloud-watching, or maybe even something that makes it look like the person is interacting with the clouds or even in control of them. (Easy to say, but I don’t know how to do this yet, myself).
Anyway, good shot. Might be great. I’d be interested to see any further changes you might make.

Allows Edits? YesWhat I see here Levi is competing leading lines drawing the eyes away constantly, the clouds lead to the brightest spot in the sky yet the ground leads to the the most eye catching rock formation, maybe if you had adjusted your position to align the clouds with the rocks and then added a little extra contrast to the rock formations alone it would have all pulled together. The dark tree is a bit of an eye snag but it probably wouldn’t have as much impact if the the rest lined up. Its a cool scene but needs a central anchor.

Allows Edits? Yes@sunnydayphotoworks Hi Levi. Too bad you don’t allow edits. I suggest you put a 16:9 crop on it and move it around to see what to include. I would make the left side of the image flush to the large bush, then cut out a lot of the foreground rock. For me the line of interest is the curving line the moves from mid-photo down to the left and off the image. How can you make that work with the interesting sky?

Allows Edits? YesI agree with Anne’s suggestions about the crop so you can bring more focus to the important areas in the scene 🙂
