Allows Edits? YesI like the soft focus look Marty, I’ve seen these in the wild but never knew what they were.

Thanks Robert, this flowering tree (Sophora Affinis) is related to Texas Mountain Laurel. I used the off-black nylon stocking filter for this shot.

Allows Edits? YesWith what you posted I was able to figure out we have Sophora nuttalliana or the Silky Sophora or the name I know it by, White Loco Weed, here, they don’t get near as big but a very similar flower. I see them mostly on the edges of the bad lands and sometimes in the lower foot hills.

Beautiful, I’d love to see your shots if you find some. I think you live in photography heaven! Bluebonnets starting to bloom here & there although we don’t see huge spreads like those in Hill country near Austin

That’s interesting, I never heard that. I knew they also make a good soup. I’ve read that’s why their seeds were brought to America on the Mayflower – they cover the ground rapidly, make a good food (& beer) source & are excellent as herbal & medicinal remedies.

Allows Edits? YesI like the general style and I think it suits the subject matter but I would like to bring a little bit of sharpness back into it. A matter of personal taste to be honest and maybe that’s just mine. For this particular treatment and subject matter I think the colour versions are a clear winner.
