Allows Edits? YesI like the dark background and the shape of this leaf, but I think the position of the main subject within the frame is a bit problematic. I would go for either a tighter or wider view.

Allows Edits? YesI like black background.
I agree Jasenka, different framing would be better IMO. And maybe rotate 180 degrees? -

great colors and toning. maybe flip it vertically so the spider is right side up, but the grass is still going in the same direction.

Allows Edits? YesI like the light and the details in the photo Rob. Agree with Jasenka about a tighter or wider crop. Also would like to see it flipped vertically 🙂

i’m sure the spider was upside down. but we’re not used to viewing things upside down. and with the tip of the blade of grass going up, against gravity, rather than down, it makes it seem like the whole thing is upside down.
now had there been other elements in the image to show which way is up, then i’d say leave the spider upside down.

Allows Edits? YesThe thing that worries me about turning this one is that the spider’s leg is going to look like it’s hanging over the edge of the leaf which is an odd way for it to stand if it were really the right way up.
Guess I better go find Sammy again and reshoot.

I like the black BG but the spider disappears in it. I would give it some punch (yeah, you also add noise) but the spider gets separated from the BG which I think works better.
