Hello from Somerset, UK

Hi everyone, thanks for having me here! I’m Ellie, from Somerset in the south-west UK. I mostly use my elderly DSLR to photograph the small herd of white ponies that my partner and I keep, as well as our dogs.

I’m trying to get more technically correct whilst staying creative, and I’d particularly like to improve my landscape photography – we’re surrounded by gorgeous countryside here, but I always feel like my landscape photos lack a certain something.

@lightandshadow I think I now owe you a street photo of the local signs to Midsomer Norton! (We’ve had our own less deadly mysteries over the last year: somebody/a group of somebodies keeps switching the road and street signs with other towns in the area, which is starting to get quite funny provided you aren’t lost.)

Thanks @admin-2 – I think I’m getting there?! I actually find the clunkiness refreshing… I grew up online when Yahoo forums and LiveJournal were big, but somehow now my biggest issue seems to be remembering to log in. Isn’t it rubbish how mobile apps have changed the wiring in our brains?

I hate how technology has changed my behaviour and even my writing. But that seems to be the world we live in now. 🙁

Oh, you’re telling me – writing has been my day job for the last almost-20 years! I actually think I’ve managed to preserve enough of my own writing skills (professionally), but I agree with you about the behaviour change.
