My name is Lorraine-Lee and I live in the outback in Australia. I graduated uni last year completing my Bachelor’s in Creative Arts and Design with a specialisation in Photography. I moved to the outback a year ago, leaving behind my photography business that I was slowly building, I had grand plans of building up my business here, in our closest town 90km away, as the nearest photographer is 400kms. Unfortunately I broke my back 9 months ago, and everything is on hold at the moment. Thanks to uni I have a love of trying new photography genres, but my favourite are documentary, sports, and birds.
I’m really looking forward to being part of an online community, because out here in the desert there is no one close by with similar interests. I’m currently working out an idea for an exhibition that I started while studying, as well as working on my third book.
Thanks for reading, I’m happy to be here.

Thanks for the welcome, these days a lot of my photography is birds, as we have so many out here. I also love to capture sunsets, and life in the outback in general. I just need to work out where and how to post a photo.

I am guessing you would have some great opportunities for some bird photography out there!

Hi Rob, thanks for the welcome. There are definitely a lot of opportunities for bird photography here, at least once a month I discover another species that I hadn’t seen before.

At the bottom of this thread of comments you will see the box where you typed your comments.
Note the icons next to the word “paragraph”. The first icon looks like mountain peaks. Click on that and a box will open where you can post a photo. Insert/Edit image. Click on the icon on the right where it ask you for the “Source” of your image. The source for my images will be the “Desktop” where I will have the photo with its title.. Click on the photo and its identification number will be visible in the small box in the “source” window. Click on it and in a brief moment your photo will be ready to post below any comments you have written. Click Post and your image will be posted below your comments. You add photos where appropriate, for example:Landscape forum.
Your photo must be a jpeg. and not too big. Not sure the exact size, b ut the message informs you if it is too big. I usually just type in 1000 for the largest edge in the “Size Image” options in the software.
Phew! hope that helps. I live about 30 feet from my nearest neighbor (is that 10 meters?) I live in Northeast USA and would enjoy seeing Outback sunsets.

Whoops. After I posted the above note I noticed Robert sent you the how-to-post link.
PS Most of my sunrise photos are with the sun rising out of the ocean as I look east. Many are from a beach near my home where I just completed a walk with two friends, one who has recovered from a knee replacement and plays golf the other is recovering from a recent surgery of a broken back. So, hopefully your recovery will go well. too. (The knee guy is over 80, and the back guy turns 80 next week. So if the old foggies can do it so can you. Get your camera clicking!!

Thanks for the advice Frank, and the welcome. Living way out west, we still get the nice sunrises, but I need to walk too far to get a decent shot, and that is out of the question at the moment. In my accident I lost 50% of a vertabrae, so there is no fix to that one. I’m hoping for surgery on the other 2 vertabrae to fix them, as least I still have them intact. LOL.
So I’m guessing that I can post here in the thread, as well as the appropriate genre? When posting online I generally keep my files small. I grew up in a beach area, and lived near water most of my life, until a year ago when I moved to the outback. A big change, but so much to photograph here as well.
