I have been very quiet to say the least in the past few weeks – my family have been tested beyond comprehension with the sudden demise of my Husbands parents. A wonderful, funny, intelligent couple of Eddie 95 and Val 93 married for 73 years who, when not exactly a surprise, health starts to deteriorate. Eddie became ill and when taken into hospital was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. Our priority was to make him comfortable till the inevitable. After several incidents of stubborn old folk not doing what they are told he was taken once again into hospital. Followed surprisingly by his lovely wife (whom I adore). When she was due to come home the ward was infected with covid and she caught this terrible virus. She is fighting hard but who knows at her age. To top it all today we find out that Eddie (who is in a different hospital), his ward is also infected with covid and we await to find out if he has caught it. This photo is of my daughter with her wonderful Grandma who she may never see again as my Lottie lives in the USA. Even at their advanced age we never thought that this virus would take them away from us without being able to hold their hand, tell them that we love them and say goodbye. I will once again start posting once this awful and frightening time has passed.
