@el-dub Lenny I have stared at this and am drawing a blank. At first it looked like a whale’s mouth with some sharp teeth. I see the contrast between smooth and sharp. I also “saw” a brush on top of the teeth of a comb. The only word that comes to mind as I look again, is “Projections” or “Projecting” or something to do with the very top or highest peak… “Summit” I’m stumped and would love to know what you come up with.

i suck at titles so i’ll leave that to others.
the balcony curve just before the windows is a tad hot and seems to blend in with the wall and window frames behind it. it also feels a little unbalanced since there’s a lot going on in the bottom right and nothing in the top left.

@el-dub Like Pat, I’ve been stumped on at title for this. I like where Pat is heading with her suggestions. I’m now thinking about “odd men out,” competing forces, disturbance, or simply tension. I’m not sure ultimately who/what wins. The “whale” dominates but the rods are definitely disturbances. Possibly “intrusions” or “extrusions?” In any case, I like how thought-provoking this shot is! Great conceptual shot.

A few more thoughts for you @el-dub. Weirdly, I’m reminded of a Mark Twain quote. “There’s lies, damn lies, and statistics,” so maybe “Politics?” 😀

@el-dub Lenny, this image is driving me crazy! Two words came to mind as possible titles or a variation of the word: “Juxtaposed” and “Incongruent”.

I like sticks and stones except for the lack of stones. Maybe sticks and stoned would work here in Mexico. I am leaning toward “The Veranda” which is not very cute but is descriptive.
Pat, I am in the middle of prime whale watching here in La Paz, MX and it would be great to work that into the title but I am drawing a blank.
Marty, I love Mark Twain and his quotes especially about politicians.
I tried a crop on the bottom which I am undecided on. What do you think.

@el-dub I like the original best, the “whale” is more imposing with its great visual weight. It won’t be easy for the “sticks” to take it down. Glad to know you love Mark Twain, here’s my personal tweak lately on the quote I posted above. In our current political climate, I say it’s “lies, damn lies, and politics!” And don’t get me started on”rhetoric” lol

@el-dub Mexico, whale season? Ballena is Spanish for whale, right? “Ballena piedra y Los Clavos” (or “Palos” for sticks). My Spanish isn’t that great but might be something there. Sounds sophisticated in Spanish 😀

I have gone whale watching but don’t shoot many photos because there are so many on the net that are much better than mine. And, you are in an open boat with a bunch of active people. Another reason is that I just had to replace a camera that got wet so I am being very careful with the new one.

Allows Edits? YesI like the 1st photo best, too, Lenny. I tend to literal titles for minimalist images. Such as “Curve with Staves” For something goofy & musical, what first came to my mind looking at it was Twist and Stake. 🙂
