Hello everyone! My name is Steve Heater from Urbana Illinois, known on line most places as Heaterography. I just turned 65, but I’ve been photographing all my life from the time I was a teenager. I started out with a Pentax film camera in the 70’s, but life got in the way managing a farm and raising a family. Around 2004 I ventured back into photography with my first digital camera. As the years went by, I gradually upgraded equipment, and hopefully my skills. I’ve always loved doing nature type photography, including landscapes, storm chasing, and macro. In 2018 I started doing birding and quicky got addicted to that. Most carried binoculars, my camera’s were my binoculars. I’ve seen some jaw dropping sights while out in the field doing this. At times I’ve done professional work, including final construction photos, weddings, and family photography. I always tend to gravitate back to nature though. Due to stress of my job as a transit bus operator-especially during and after covid-being behind the camera lens is truly my happy place, no matter the subject. I try to take photos form interesting angles, and strive to get ones where you can almost hear the photo. I work 50 to 60 hours a week which limits my photography, but I go out as much as possible. I also belong to a local camera club called the Champaign County Camera Club that has a talented membership. In 2021 I was elected president, and will be starting my 4th year in August. It has been one of the biggest joys in my life leading and growing the club. I take them on outings twice a month when possible. Seeing photographers faces light up when I am able to show them a location or nature spectacle that they had no clue existed fills my heart full of joy. I can be a little slow editing and posting photos with my schedule, but I look forward to showing my work. I hope you enjoy what I submit.

And that looks like one of the most organised and up to date camera club websites I have ever seen (with some great shots too). Kudos for keeping it that way. Champaign County Camera Club
