I like this but I keep wanting to see her face! Interesting shot with the bokeh in b&w.

Also like the BW background. I would crop to the top of her shoulder and clone out the straps of her dress. Think thatwould help the hat stand out more. Don’t mind not seeing her face but seeing one eye may have looked better.

I looked at you’re image last night on my computer and now looking at it on my iPad it looks lovely on the iPad but on my PC it wasn’t quite working for me maybe it’s my monitor as it’s only a cheap thing but the black and white looked to light for the colour but here it looks nice and balanced .

Thanks to all for the comments. Arthur, I tried cropping as you suggested and it doesn’t work for me. I think the greyish, bluish colors in the dress tie to the gray background and for that reason are important. Thanks again.

Here is the girl full face John. Thought the picture of the profile was more interesting.

Allows Edits? Yes”Nikon D200; 100mm; 1/125 sec.; f4.8; iso 125
Taken on the street two years ago at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Just thought the young girl looked so beautiful in her pink hat. The goal was to show her hat and the delicacy of her features. Don’t do much street portrait and would like some feedback on this one. Thanks in advance.”
info for @yumarena…please post info with the shot, next time, thanks.
I think you’re right, the profile shot is much more interesting …

Hey @yumarena I agree the profile is much better. I was not actually suggesting that you change it I was just saying how the image made me feel and that “feeling” is part of the draw to this pic. It looks like the girl was having fun with it.

Allows Edits? YesOK, I’m going to say it… ‘I like it’ ! Lol and think the profile image would make a great fashion shot! – Lovely as she is, I don’t mind not seeing her face because I think her delicate lacy bodice, matches the fluting on her hat and overall they make the pic… The bra straps also kinda match the hats trim and with the b&w background it makes all the colours pop. I don’t know much sorry but I don’t think I’d change anything – maybe tho’ clone out that little white triangle where her blue bra strap meets the black lace of her bodice – and also the little bra-buckle thingy at the top of her shoulder (ie: make the strap smooth?) 🙂 x

I thought I did post the information with the shot. Oh well. Something must have gone wrong. Thanks for all the constructive comments. I will clone out the two small annoyances on her bra strap.
The first photo was candid and then the young girl and her mother noticed me. I approached them, got their email address and sent them copies of the photos. It is my way to get the people participate in my shot and not get angry at me for taking their photos. Whenever I get caught or want someone to pose for me, I always offer to send them the pictures and invariably the people accept. And I do send the photos as promised.
Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
