        This Rufous-naped wren couple were taunting each other when this broke out. I have no idea if it’s a mating ritual or something else. It looks brutal but it was over in a flash and they continued to stay together. I’m not fond of the composition but I find it engaging somehow. Tear it up sharks…

          Its one of those things the brain struggles to reconcile because of the position of the birds, rotate it 90 deg counter clockwise or flip it on its head and it makes more sense, It’s all in the mind.

            Not sure I would change a lot on this one cos its strength is in the moment it has captured rather than its technical approach. If I did I might focus on drawing the eye towards the eye of the bird with a bit of dodging and burning, but again – it’s a small point.

              Rob, this is a fascinating image.  I just spent some time trying to figure out what is going on in the middle – his beak is thrust into some kind of loop.   I really like that this composition is the reverse of many –  your sharp focus is on the top and bottom of the image and the middle muddle is a mystery!

                  Thanks, Rob.  I finally retired for real, after 2 retirements that ended in taking on projects. Hah!

                  I think I’ve forgotten how to use my cameras, but I hope to get in the swing again.
