This is an old photo originally taken on a Panasonic bridge camera I had back in 2007. The image was quite soft with lots of CA. I discovered it recently (had forgotten about it) and gave it a makeover in Snapseed on my phone.
Quite happy with the result!

Allows Edits? YesYeah, I think that’s a huge improvement mate. It’s why I am glad that I still have a lot of my old digital images on a hard drive somewhere. I was playing around with some of my old D70 images recently and realized that it’s a lot easier to edit them now than it was back in the day.

I have shed loads on deviant art, many hi res uploads but could do with a bit of tweaking. Would take ages to go through them all.

Allows Edits? YesYou have mentioned deviant art a bit. Are you still active there, or are you a refugee?

Still sort of active but yea kind of a refugee. I’m editing my photos on there, putting watermarks on them so they are less likely to be stolen. I asked to have my account deactivated but the email I used to register to the site in 2009 is defunct, and when you click Deactivate they send a deactivation link to the address you signed up with so… I’m unable to leave!

Allows Edits? YesI think in the coming years we’re going to have a lot of leftover legacy internet issues with workflows like that that nobody really thought about. I don’t think I ever actually had an account over there, but it’s always been such a persistent presence in the creative online world.

It used to be a good site, active, busy, lots of interaction. The groups used to be quite active but most of them just sit there unmoderated. So you submit a photo and it either goes or sits there forever waiting to be accepted

Allows Edits? YesIf I’m honest, our biggest competitors are now the main social sites like Facebook and Instagram. They have simply grabbed all of the traffic and it stays on their site so forums and whatnot are struggling by comparison. we are lucky to have a moderately active little community here But I think we are the exception rather than the rule these days.
