i pulled the trigger and bought a fuji gfx 50r and 32-64mm lens. i’m keeping my canon gear for wildlife, plus i can use the canon lenses on the gfx with an adapter and some vignetting (and autofocus still works!). i loved the fuji x series cameras but wasn’t crazy about how their raw files still had rendering issues with lightroom 5 years later. the gfx has a bayer sensor by sony.
the lens came yesterday, the camera got held up and will be here tuesday.

Interesting Beth. I just pulled the trigger on a Fujifilm X-T3 because I wanted a crop sensor for my L series lenses and the 7D2 is getting long in the tooth. I’m waiting on the adapter to come which is a Fringer EF/FX Pro. I would have preferred to try the adapter first but it was hard to find and no one stocked it.
What adapter did you buy?
I have a Fuji X100T which has been great but I missed being able to change lenses. I guess that’s going on eBay.

Rob congratulations. You are going to love the X-T3. I do!
The best lens for the X-T3 is the 16mm 1.4.
I do not have that one yet but are very tempted because it is a class on its own.-

Thanks for the input Erik. I recently had the opportunity to use the Canon 24 1.4 and it opened some doors for me. Don’t be surprised if I bug you for some info in the future. Cheers.

i bought a techart adapter. still waiting on that as well. i still like my 7d mkii and plan on keeping that for wildlife, but i prefer the fuji bodies. we don’t really have camera stores around here. there’s only one physical photography store in the state unless you count the crap inventory at bestbuy.
i love my x-t2. i just wish it had a regular bayer sensor in it or lightroom would fix the green worms issue. i can see it in some of my photos when they’re posted at web size.

I never had any issues with Lightroom and the RAW files from the X100T. I wasn’t aware of any “green worm” issues. I intend to profile the camera with X_Rite’s camera profiler. Hopefully that will solve any colour issues. Hope I haven’t made a mistake…..

i never tried the x_rite profiler. colors weren’t an issue, it was just the green details in lightroom. apart from that i loved my fujis.

Congratulations Beth. What a fantastic buy. Looking forward to seeing your images. The medium format has such an awesome resolution.
This Fuji is best for landscape, controlled portrait and so on. Not so much fast-moving objects but for that, you keep your canon.
Luckily it’s already Sunday, that means almost Tuesday..
