I retired in January. My wife bought me a Nikon d3500 as a gift. I am hoping this site can give me constructive criticism on my photos. Composition, lighting etc.

Allows Edits? Yes@jjhpops53 Hi Joe, welcome to the forums. I like the softness in this image. The only suggestion would be to leave more space to the right, rather than the left as the bird is looking to the right of the frame. Do you have more space in the original image or was it taken this way?
Also, from next time, if you post images for feedback on the shark tank feedback forum, more members will be able to see the image and feedback. Here is the link.
Thank you 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions. I might have more room on the right. Also I will post in shark tank. Thanks

Also I only saw the crane not the direction it was facing. Thanks will be watching for things like that in the future

Allows Edits? Nowelcome to lightstalking. nice shot. the one thing i’d suggest is increase the contrast just a little. almost all photos should have a true white and true black. this has a lot of midtone grey and would benefit by spreading out the tones a bit more.
