Photo of the Week—April 24th

There is something cinematic about stillness displayed as movement. These suspended leaf-like forms performing a silent dance amidst the gallery’s white box. Also the negative space between them aids by adding volume to the scene. What strikes me most is the deliberate scatter of scale: smaller pieces to the left like a distant hush, colliding with larger forms in an almost theatrical matter. And then there is the vibrant and striking colours; with each hue defining its own pace.

I actactually saw this at the Phoenix Banatanical Gardens Several Years Ago when they were hosting the Glass Works of Lino Tagliapietra. It was part of a rather large outdoor display.
