Photo of the Week — February 6th

Week after week, right at the peak of hard work, the weekly challenge offers me a moment of divergence. And on rare occasions, I have the privilege of not only seeing human made photographs with high grade of talent, but also witness true master pieces of the light craft.

For a still unknown reason, this image felt to me as if Kertész‘s spirit guided both exposure and composition. The interplay between highlights and shadows here is what makes this shot so pleasing to watch.

And if you look closer, you’ll perceive the structure of the guiding lines juxtaposed with the organic shape of that beautiful black cat. Yet, is the rich shadow the one stealing the show; unveiling a distinguishable silhouette.
