Allows Edits? YesContinuing the rhythm and repetition set, this week we found some syncopated sharp textures that brought the whole theme together. However, as you might be already familiar with, there’s always one standing out from the crowd. For today’s potw, the selected image reminded me of a highly viewed image called “Bliss” taken 30 years ago by Charles O’Rear.

Unlike the famous wallpaper, Michael’s landscape delivers movement due to its dynamic texture and composition. And why does the former matter? It happens in photography and other visual crafts, that when repetition is structured with intervals or variations, it aids the viewer’s eye through the frame in a non-monotonous way.
Congrats @michael, thanks for sharing your images with us!

Allows Edits? NoFederico, as always, I am honored by your choice. Your comments are always so interesting and insightful. I captured this image from a road overlooking a cattle pastureland on the Big Island of Hawaii. The many undulations in the hill are from the cattle traversing across. I have to admit, when I saw the image later on my computer screen, I was surprised that it definitely led me to the same impression of the similarity to Windows XP splash screen. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while!

Allows Edits? Yes@michael – congrats on POTW. I. too, appreciate Federico’s comments each week. When I saw this frame, it truly caught my attention. It is wonderful! Blind squirrel? Hmm, I don’t think so – rather, a smart one that knew an unusual “nut” when he saw it!
