When thinking about patterns of life, electronics and silicon based surfaces are not the usual places our minds decide to go. However, as noted by @patography, these intricate patterns reign and govern our everyday lives.

Picturing the contemporary landscape without components like these is quite naive to say the least. Capacitors, routings and transistors, cramped together in a tight pattern designed for efficiency and handling of heat.

It’s interesting Pat, reminds me of the preplanned streets and houses of the cookie cutter neighborhoods of the 70’s. Grats on Photo of the week.

You’re lucky that it stopped in your area in the 90s. They are doing this rubbish in Sydney right now and it doesn’t look to stop any time soon.

These “developments” have a fancy, politically correct name now up here – “Affordable Housing”. Not sure who can afford them either.

There is an Australian guy on Instagram who works in construction and design. He basically has huge gripes with the design of modern housing, including affordable housing and his main point is that it doesn’t actually cost any extra to make houses look way better. And he gives so many examples that I think he really has a point.

One city contractor has been building clusters of “tiny houses” and they are quick to build and just the right size  – many homeless vets have taken advantage. We have plenty of old mill complexes and schools but not always cost efficient to bring to code etc. Seems to be a universal problem.
