  While I was away, I received some awards at my city’s annual photo contest. I submitted 4 this year which were all recognized. It was interesting that one of the pro judges (specializing in nature & flower photos) said she was 95% biased on how she saw the world & just couldn’t wrap her head around photography as “fine art.” I imagine she meant the experimental / digital category? I don’t care, I enjoy dabbling in it. Another interesting thing to note. The photographer who won best of show made a point to say that he was excited about learning more about “fine art” photography after seeing contest entries & thanked others for sharing.

  More stunners from you. Your level is so high now. If I were you, I’d be submitting some of these to a lot more than just your local city contest.
  
  Regarding the judges remarks, I tend to ignore gatekeepers, but it always fascinates me how so-called experts don’t recognise photography is fine art once several photographs of sold for over $1 million each. They may not recognise it but the market certainly does.
