There were many interesting pictures uploaded onto two different threads this week. The first was Photography Challenge #493 High Key and the second was Photography Challenge #492 Silhouettes.

However, I kept coming back to this beautiful picture by Graham.

The high key effect works really well and the image tells a great story.

I had a runnerup in the high key challenge and that was an image by Patrick. In his photo, he makes excellent use of a dynamic angle and implied motion. It’s clever and quite artistic.

      I’ll post a link below.

      Thanks very much Kent

This is a lovely photograph you have selected once again , when i look at this image my mind conjures up images and news reports i remember seeing while growing up about athletes showing the behind the scenes routines , the stuff we don’t normally see  because we are in cosy warm bed .. the cold damp foggy morning grinds they do to prepare themselves for a big Race event or Season that approaching fast.

I love a photo that can make me drift off like that 😉 Congratulations on a super photo Graham well deserving POTW Mate 😉

Thanks so much for the kind mention Kent 😉

Wow, that photograph is very inspiring.  I bought into this program a month ago and have not gotten a chance to do much yet.  I hope to get there this week!

Thank you Kent for the acknowledgement and thanks to everyone for your lovely words. Congrats also to Patrick for his terrific shot of a bird on the wing… love it. I gotta say, it’s great to be back after a long hiatus!

Terrific shot Graham. Congrats on POTW!. What first caught my eye was how much depth the 2nd kayaker adds to this minimalist image.

Thumbs up to you as well Patrick. A fun photo to look at.

What I really like about both images is the “angle of view”.
