Allows Edits? YesI’ve had a rethink about the wording accompanying my recent post titled ‘Racism’. I always thought it was a bit of a sledgehammer approach and I probably focused too much on the pun aspect of it which detracted from the message I was trying to convey. After some valuable input from members responses to the post, the new wording came to me came to me in a lightbulb moment. I think this version delivers the message in a softer way and promotes a deeper message (if only to work out what it means 🙂 )

I prefer this title Graham. This concept would make a great series. It’d be interesting to see what you might come up with.

Allows Edits? YesThanks Rob. I’m interested to know what you mean by a ‘series’?

What I meant by a “series” was a group of different images all centered around the same theme but expressing different facets of the same issue. Easier to say than do but I’m sure you could handle the challenge judging by your output and comments over the years that you’ve been on LS.

Allows Edits? YesThis new title is better I think, Graham. I like the ambiguity of the second title much more.

Allows Edits? YesDon’t know Graham, I kind of liked the in your face title of the first round, I have no doubt everyone has their stories, if you listen to the crap going on here in the US we are the most racist country in the world, Go spend a month in Iraq or South Africa or North Korea. I see it all the time as a child Advocate for 2 Native reservations here in Wyoming and being a Half blood with fair skin, my fair skin makes me a racist by default. I support strengthening our southern borders so I’m a racist, never mind one of my best friends is proud American who legally Immigrated form Mexico 15 years ago, Never mind I am the God Father of his two children. Getting really sick of the “Wokesters” , so in your face is alright with me as in my experience the biggest racists are the ones pointing their fingers at everyone else and proclaiming they are not the loudest. I suppose I’m a racist because those orange skinned green haired oompa loompas creep me out, I just know they are up to no good.

Allows Edits? YesHi Robert, yes any mention of the ‘R’ word is bound to open up a can of worms and for that reason I think I prefer the softer approach and let people consume the idea and come up with their own thoughts.
I couldn’t be a racist if I tried. I often sit in my lunchroom at work and I could be in a foreign country. I don’t understand a word of what is being said. Sometimes I’m the only white person there and I’m fine with that. My co-workers are all great people. Wish I had two languages like they do.
I’m no racist but I don’t look forward to the challenges of dealing with drunken, abusive people – invariably of a certain race – who never pay and often throw up in my bus then pass out requiring emergency services to attend. The same is true though of all under-privileged people regardless of colour, its just a matter of numbers. Deep down I know that they are the real victims. They have little hope for a future of any kind and life is a never ending struggle for them. I don’t profess to know the answers so all I can do is make allowances where I can and promote understanding.
