This was really cropped a lot, noisy, shot from the hip and not very good focus. But I kinda like the humanity. I did a lot of post stuff to it including the new “enhance” thing in lighroom which uses AI to multiply the pixels… not real impressed with that. I’m interested in the humanity and compo of the shot more that the technical. Not sure if I will post it anywhere before blurring the kids face a bit but I don’t especially want to do that. Does this push any buttons for you?

I think it definitely pushes buttons Lenny. Different folks, different strokes as they say.
ST…not so sure you need that much illumination difference between the soldier and the kid.

Allows Edits? YesAmazing photo, Lenny. Technical aspects don’t matter. Gesture/story prevails everything.

This is what photography is about. Not sure you will post it anywhere? I would post it everywhere.

Thanks to all of you for the nice comments!
Rob and Dahila, the guy up top… the army guys don’t like having their photos taken much less published so I’m careful. In fact way before covid (I shot this in 2016) most of them wore masks when working so the cartel thugs wouldn’t wouldn’t know who they are and retaliate. This was a special occasion, independence day parade so they were unmasked. Plus I like the shadowy ominous look of him..
Erik, thanks for the encouragement and I’m going to post it.

Allows Edits? YesI bet this shot would start an utter sh*t storm if we posted it on the Facebook page.

Hi Rob, I find that many people that live in a cocoon like protected middle/upper class live style find photos like this to be disturbing. Especially ones that have not traveled in 3rd world countries. Most of my family. Unfortunately, it does not encourage them to come visit me here in Mexico!
