I honestly did not even notice the bee when I took the photo. What do you think — does it work?

cool grouping, almost abstract in color and pattern.  the hoverfly isn’t prominent enough to make or break the image.   it’s a nice touch, but the image is strong enough to stand on its own.

Thanks for your comments, Beth. I was so concentrated on the flower that I missed the bee entirely until I got it on the computer. One thing I wish my camera had is a touch-screen that you can judge the shot better immediately.

i’ve got touchscreen on one of my cameras.  it’s pretty annoying and the tech isn’t quite there yet, even with small fingers.

I pretty much agree with Beth. Also, this violet-green color combo is really striking.

Thanks, Jasenka. The actual color was more gray blue as opposed to the image, which seems to go toward a magenta color, which I kind of liked for the dramatic effect.
