Allows Edits? YesWe’ve had a recent Weekend Challenge on Modern. I think it’s only fair to flip the coin and have a challenge of photographing something old… photos of @tomdinning don’t count.

@valeryp, thank you for your interest, but…
a) I prefer the shot a little skewed, I feel it adds to the character of an obviously imperfect subject.
b) I don’t mean to sound rude, but critiques are for the Shark Tank.Cheers,

Allows Edits? YesThat’s probably my fault – I need to make it so that a user can more easily tell when they are in the shark tank or in the normal forum. I might change the colour of the ST or something.

I was going to use my avatar but I did not want to drive people away. This is one of my street shots. It is in Eze du Village with is a small medieval village in So. France not far from Monaco. Complete with my strange B&W conversion.

Allows Edits? Yesreally like this, @nikon-nut, it reminds me of the one with the coloured in rose….they look a bit like engravings.

Love the colors and texture. It would look great on a canvas with old keys hanging on a wall. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Notice the handrail on the left side. Not exactly medieval! LOL. This place was a treasure to walk around in.

Very cool shot @nikon-nut! I like the pp, is that a bit of HDR combined with b&w processing? I agree with @tersha, it does look like an engraving.

Yes it is HDR. I have a created a preset for Photomatix that I use that is like the Painerly presets. It helps highlight the lines in the stones. It really works great for old stone buildings. I have a few others in my album here on Lightstalking. My favorite is a monastery door in Rhodes that I colored the vines and flowers next to the door. On this particular pic it was my intention to make it look like and engraving. Since I have no artistic talent this is the best I can do. Thanks for commenting @catz

Just looked in at the other door, also a very cool shot! Good job with the preset!

Thank you I am glad you like it. I bought a Wacom tablet on ebay and wanted a project to try it out on so I colored the vines and flowers. I love the way it turned out. There is an interesting story to accompany it. I posted it in the Shark Tank a few weeks back. I told people that I hung it on the wall of the office of my sons auto shop. He does custom work for historic and current muscle cars and his friends and customers have bought 7 copies of it to date. On of the ladies that commented on the pic said that the color added a romantic twist to a unique b&w photo. Imagine, she said, buying a romantic painting at a muscle car shop! I had not thought of it like that but it is different.
Thanks.
