I like this shot of ferns on a lichen covered brick wall. But, is it too much? A lot of detail here! Honestly, it has spent zero time in post. Maybe it the fern color could be kept while darkening the wall somehow? I don’t know.

Allows Edits? YesThere is a bit much going on to really give the eye an anchor point.
A crop inward to minimize the effect , a touch of contrast to more separate foreground from background, and a touch of vignette to push the eyes inward as there really isn’t a defined focal point. That would be my take on it.
Something like this.

Thanks, Robert… This is one of the few “art photos” I’ve taken with my phone.

Maybe, this is another example of “something to just enjoy” instead of trying to take the photo. 🙂

Allows Edits? YesI actually keep a folder of these types of shots to potentially use as blended onto other shots that I’m trying to give a grungy look. I don’t do it often, but when I do it usually turns out okay

Hmmm… This is something new for me, Rob. I have never blended photos to create a certain look. I have much to learn Obi-Wan.

Allows Edits? Yes@dr-john Don’t get me wrong, it’s not something I do very often, but it can add a certain aesthetic, especially to grungier types of topics if you want to see it taken to its extreme then you can look up a digital artist called Sebastian Michaels who we sometimes promote here I’m talking for my personal taste about stuff that’s five percent of what he does. Still it’s an interesting arrow to have in your quiver

Allows Edits? YesI enjoy these sorts of images. There is one wall we visit every time we go to the mountains. I have lots of pictures in various seasons. B&W sometimes works well, even with green ferns. I’ve even been known to add texture.
Experiment. I have a t-shirt: “Photograph- 90% trial and error, 10% pretending I meant to do that.” I’m using it as the theme of a presentation I will be doing in October to a group of friends looking for advice.
