Interesting Paul, those leaves must have a very waxy surface to bead up water that large.

Robert,  according to the Google it’s a

Crassula perforata, which is most commonly known as String of Buttons or Necklace Vine. [1, 2]

It is a popular, low-maintenance succulent native to South Africa. It features distinct, triangular grey-green leaves that appear tightly stacked on top of one another, making the stem look like it passes directly through them. When exposed to plenty of bright, direct sunlight, the edges of the leaves turn a vibrant rosy pink or red. [1, 2, 3, 4]

This gave me flashbacks. My grandmother used to have these in her garden or at least something very very similar and I used to love pulling off these “leaves” and snapping them apart. Very thick green flesh but very crisp snap that was satisfying as a kid. She used to chase me after I did it.

I can both imagine that as a child, the pleasure you got from snapping them, as well the subsequent ‘speaking to’ from mom… lol
