Is this too plain? A new paint job made this place look real fresh, so… It is on the top of a 4 story building and I would like to show the scale of it. I was thinking of adding clouds but I like the simplicity of the shot and all the negative space. It is the from the camera colors but did increase the saturation but did not change the hue and cropped it.

1,000 sec., f5.6, 72mm, iso100
In about 3 weeks I should be fully vaccinated and will start doing street photography again after almost 18 months of isolation. I feel like I’m about to explode!

Allows Edits? YesNot too plain for me. I’m still trying to figure out what that thing is. 🙂
Seriously, the image really grabs my eye as is.

Greg, We see 10 or so of these in other colors on an eccentric neighbors roof and didn’t have any idea what they are until we toured Gaudi’s eccentric house in Madrid and saw ventilators there that look similar so we think they are Mexican style non-functional knock-offs.

Thank you Beth. I’m usually told I use too much contrast 😉

Allows Edits? YesGreat !!! I like this type of images. Definitely not too plain. This type of images should look plain and more abstract then real. I like colors. Nothing to change I think.

Not sure if my monitor’s dirty or not, but there appears to be a couple of white spots/dots in the bottom LH corner of the blue square by the brown.
Nice image Lenny!

Love the shapes and colors Lenny , nice seeing on your part .. I personally think the image would be so much stronger if the ornament on the roof was not there i feel it interrupts the balance a little.
Stay well and good luck getting out of isolation and back shooting 🙂
Your monitor is clean Paul i see the white spots here as well.

Art is art Lenny so I have nothing to add on that front. I do think that some of the edits could be improved. I’ve outlined the areas. There’s a variety of hard line edits that could be cloned to match the softer real lines, some white and dark spots to be removed, and areas were the blue could be extended with the edge softened. Pixel peeping I know but worth the attention if your committed to this image. -

Hey people, thanks for the comments!
Rob, I was aware of the edits that needed to be done but am a lazy editor. I have someone that wants a use this shot so I guess I will have to get off my lazy you-know-what and fix it up. Gracias señior pixel miron!

Much better IMHO Lenny. Anything left to do is extremely minor.
EDIT: The transitions between the colours are very hard. Maybe try selecting those edges and try applying a very small Gaussian blur to see if you like that better. To me it takes away the hard edge look of being edited. Not trying to be picky… just another point of view 🙂
