Love it, Robert – Ice Cube.  This is a smaller one.  We were pretty close in a boat that was about 60 feet long, and I’d guess this berg was 2 or 3 times that length.  It’s really hard to tell how large they are from any distance.  I’m always zoomed out to 200 mm (which doesn’t make much difference).

I feel so fortunate to have seen these amazing creations by nature.   Most of my iceberg images don’t include rocks, especially the huge ones out in the Atlantic.  Below is one that is much larger than the one above  (and we’re much farther away from it).  It has the loaf shape and shows the rocky shore and a bit of the ice sheet that covers central Greenland.

I have a shot similar to this you would probably like Diane, I was actually photographing this weird rock I saw under the water, after getting it home and looking at it full size I realized it was a frog laying on the bottom amongst the rocks.

It’s real.

I was walking the “River Walk” around Clayton, NY and this is about 15 feet deep, along the walk in a docking area for boaters traveling the St. Lawrence River. It can be seen when they stop off to eat or shop the down town.

It gets cleared off around Memorial Day each year, beginning of the tourist mayhem.

I tried to take a shot like this near Monterey Bay, slipped on a rock and tore my leg open on exposed coral, took a couple years to heal, and I never got the shot, Its a beautiful scene, thanks for sharing.
