Use complimentary colours for striking high contrast, or for more subtle contrast.

Kent, I love the unique patina your shots always display. Its like you use a unique de-saturation filter or similar to give your pics that ‘Kent’ touch.

Especially love the first shot becasue the brown wood chips suit the magenta and green colours so well too. I really like the compo in the second shot which adds to the sense of travelling to distant destinations.

Terrific pics David. The first one looks like a wormhole or something to another dimension and the second one looks like a digital graffiti tag (Hope I haven’t given any teenage geeks out there any ideas!). Maybe you could use this technique to offer unique watermarks to photogs?

Thank you Dahlia – this is old lava – with moss and trees. The “river” is in fact newer lava without moss. The oblique dark line on the right side of the image is a small rift in the earth – in fact a part of a series of rifts and ravines of the Mid- Atlantic Ridge, where the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates move apart. The landscape of Thingvellir National Park, where the image was taken, is dominated by the phenomenon.
