Andre, there is such a wealth of detail in this image that I’m not sure where to focus (and I mean that in a positive way).

Kind of optical aberration (the vase is cylindrical)

    I don’t have a photo.  But I do have a karaoke moment.

My goodness she had great teeth.    Not that this was at the forefront of my mind in 1978, when I was 12.  lol.

For Chris. My (published) image of Blondy. I shot in in Paradiso Amsterdam in 1978.
I was doing a film item on her. At her first concert, we shot the film, the second concert we did some additional audio recording and some stills.

Lucky man!!  I wanted to shoot Kylie Minogue when she played at Newmarket Race Course a few years ago.  I’ve wangled a press pass to shoot the races there.  But I had family commitments.  Uff!

The pic was taken underneath the bridge Bobbie showing one of the supporting pylons. Here’s another view taken from the spot where I took this pic and looking across the river toward the other side’s pylon. It was a dull day but there was a little colour in the glass which I enhanced in PP.

Great photo… lots of atmosphere!  Question:  How did you decide on the exposure?

      • #416879

        Bobbie
        Participant

Thanks Holly. I only use a small compact camera with no interchangeable lenses, usually don’t use a flash, and I like trying to see how far I can push its limits. The pub is fairly dark with most of the light coming from the bar area and sometimes the back portion of the pub. I wanted to make Mor, the man in the picture, recognizable to people who know him while keeping him a little mysterious to others. It was a spur of the moment decision (like most of my images unfortunately).

Thanks Bruce. This is our small community pub (very small). Not much to watch except people talking and doing whatever they’re doing.

Thanks Bobbie. This is a part of a cut glass bowl in a window in my kitchen. I put an orange zinnia flower inside it, then light-painted the flower from above. This was an evening exercise, so the background is dark.
