High key photography uses unnaturally bright lighting to blow out most or all harsh shadows in an image. Rob (Admin) put up a post that was very inspiring, so I thought it was time for a Challenge.

Yes, it is the “Queen of the Night”. The flower of this hybrid is almost entirely white. Flowers open most often during the night, and in the morning there is an incredible smell of perfume in the room.
          Thanks you.

Thanks Andre. I recognised it because I have Queen of the Night, too. It’s a beauty.

If i remember correctly, you had this posted in color once.  It’s a nice treatment Dave, especially the vignette to add more white.

You’re right. Posted a color version a while back. Had so much fun working on the coastal grass and Cider pics I wanted to do another. The hi-key treatment with white vignette gave this shot a dream like quality that I liked.

She was a faded bronze right?  I love how this softened her skin to make her look almost human.  You hit the nail on the head calling it a dream-like quality

Yep. A bronze just outside a little café where we had lunch in Joseph Oregon. Parked cars just to the left and signs on the wall to the right. A very “downtown” setting. 🙂

Her hauntingly dark eyes adds a bit of spookiness too I think.

This started out as an example of what happens when one forgets to reset settings. But had been exposed to high key and thought I’d try it. Model A and Queen Anne’s Lace.

Been there done that.  🙂  I prefer the B&W myself.  Abandoned farm machinery makes great subject matter.

Have never seen “the arch” from this angle – wonderful curves, lines, geometry and framing in this image.

Thanks Pat!  This was the first time I actually got to stop and explore the arch.  It’s quite an impressive structure up close.
