Allows Edits? YesStarting a new set of ‘Contrast and Conflict’ … with Urban vs Nature: The Encroaching City!
Think about … colour, juxtaposition, uniqueness, texture, contrast, the environment. -

Allows Edits? NoThis is more a “blending” of urban and nature. The church is rising out of the rock.

Gorgeous shot with wonderful composition and framing, Michael! So many textures with the complimentary oranges and blues with the structure pointing to the sky keep my eye moving.

Allows Edits? NoOh! What a nice little friend :)! I love how it’s looking at the camera! And the color contrast between the human and the natural.

Thank you for sharing how you see this shot @astraroth. My spouse and I changed carriers for our cable/streaming/online etc service to one which didn’t use a satellite. So the original carrier was unwilling to remove the satellite dish on the roof, and we were unwilling to have a hole left in our roof if they took it out. One consequence of changing technology is what to do with what’s left behind. We never realized how the dish left behind would impact our little anole friends. I think this little guy was more intent on finding a mate from the rooftop and could have cared less about the technology. But that being said, in 90-100+ F degrees of typical Texas summer heat, I doubt whether he would have stayed there long to fry to death. On a side note, we put it in six trellises with vines underneath the satellite that made the little guys quite happy. We call it “Motel 6” lol

Allows Edits? YesThere is a wonderful salmon river that runs through our city. Protecting it from urban planners and a very unwise city council is a demanding and relentless struggle for caretakers and interest organisations. This shot was taken on the opening day of this season, last Thursday. It is always a day of celebration where the person who is chosen the Reykjavik citizen of the year is invited to fish the first salmon.

The image is not showing but i can imagine it is a great river to fish , will look back again to see if it shows up 🙂
It is crazy we need to fight some kind of battle to protect nature , Do you know if the lucky angler caught a fish on this occasion Elin.

Allows Edits? YesThe LS uploader was playing tricks on me yesterday – I did not get the option to choose the images I wanted – but it seemed that some were uploaded successfully – but now they have disappeared. Used at least an hour on this @admin … 🙂
It was a good day – “the citizen of the year” caught the first salmon within 15 minutes after the first throw – with a little help from the guide. Maybe I´ll make a separate post about it – its a story …-

Allows Edits? YesThanks Karen. Yes – the first salmon was caught within 15 minutes and everybody was happy except the salmon (did not take to the water when released and thus became the day´s dinner) and Marta, the citizen of the year, who felt very sorry for it.
