This is one image of a series of an elderly gentleman making maple syrup in his hand built sugar shack. He collected the sap from the trees on his property and rendered it into maple syrup. I spent the day with him, following his process. I eventually made a photo book out of the images, and gave him one to keep. I still have syrup from that day to enjoy!

EDIT – Ok this is scary – that reply above was written and responded to by AI without any of my input. I just wanted to see what this new AI browser thing could do. Don’t get me wrong that sounds nothing like me and is a terrible response, but I imagine if I asked her to learn some of my forum response language that it would’ve done a better job. Haha , nice experiment mate .. I can come up with lots of pros and cons to this whole AI stuff , One hand we can’t be sad when we see that it is helping to produce stuff in the medical world that would take normally decades to discover , on the other side we have all the other stuff related to business that can help streamline systems ecct , then we have all the bad stuff , the fake stuff that can be produced with it and all the task a professional would normally be required now with some of those task all it needs a prompt , They tell us AI is still in its baby stages right now and lots of fine tuning will come and fix the current things we call flaws with it – This is the scary part.

Not knowing if something is human or a computer chip gets freaky 🙂

My general opinion is that targeted AI in the hands of an expert is an absolute game changer in the positive aspects. In the hands of somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing or has nefarious intent then things get pretty spicy.

Here’s a picture from June, 2004. I had gone to a local park and saw this person out for a power walk and couldn’t resist. June in Columbia, South Carolina mid-morning is nearly always hot and humid. She was undaunted. I can’t say this is anyone’s normal idea of beauty but it holds a good deal of interest.
