What disappoints you about cameras?

Here is my list

• no way to bluetooth an image to my iphone
• no way to import/export a full camera setup
• no internet connectivity (upload whole shoots and have them waiting in Lightroom when you get home)
• no search function in menus
• very few touch screen menus

How about you?

I have a rather old camera (Nikon D6O0) and my two main complaints is that it’s heavy and the sensor easily gets dirty. I really need to switch to mirrorless sometimes soon.

Jasenka, I have the D600 as well. Sensor dirt was an early complaint, but Nikon modified the design several years ago. I think this resulted in the D610. My dealer upgraded me for free, and I really haven’t had much of a problem since.

That’s true about D610 but at this point I’m really considering mirrorless 🙂

The lack of global shutter. I’m looking for it …

Perfectly designed ergonomy (not from the shape, size etc of body points of view, but from the control point of view). Camera should be controlled by minimum intuitive and simple controls. Example of perfect ergonomy: NIKON focus button: no press = MF, single press = SF, press and hold = continuous focus. That way I don’t need to think and switch focus modes. I simply control it immediately. “Dynamic stereotype”.

It’d be a long discussion to continue this theme….. 🙂

What do you mean by global shutter?

@admin  Global shutter: camera chip that:
– reads all pixels simultaneously (not sequentially like most of the CMOS chips today) so preventing distortion effect of quickly moving subjects
– new construction able to put more electronic circuits on the chip resulting for example in “chip embedded” HDR functionality (huge dynamic range)

My camera is the Fuji X100T, I love it, but…

• Battery life is really awful
• And this is quite a dumb one, but it happens to me… The camera allows one to customise the buttons, but there is one specific button that always bumps into my hope bone when walking… I eventually ended up assigning it a null value.

I am not sure we can blame batteries on the camera manufacturers. Isn’t that just an inherent problem with all batteries?

Nope, Batteries on Fuji are quite a pain… But, it is a nice price to pay.

Be nice to have cameras run on a small dynamo that once wound up you get a dozen shots then you wind again for another dozen or so shots , it would remove the need for batteries and cold temps and all that added up would lead to a more environmentally friendly product.
