Allows Edits? No4 sec, f/8, iso 1250 with a 10 stop nd filter. i took a few single shots to see what the best shutter speed was to capture the spinning pool and ended up around 4 seconds. the 10 stop was a bit much and i couldn’t get the aperture to f/14 without increasing my iso further, so i’ve ordered the 6 stop filter.
.5 sec, f/14, iso 80, no nd filter

Allows Edits? NoWow! I love the composition in these ones, and the place is stunning. I made some attempts this weekend, but the place where I was working was too sunny during the day to avoid using an ND filter…

Allows Edits? Nothanks @astaroth, i ran into the same problem. cloudy days are the best to shoot without an nd filter. once it’s sunny, you’re stuck using one. the light hitting the rocks on the left side of the whirlpool image is what did me in. i was fine once i moved further right out of the sun. also, i could use a shorter shutter speed on that one since the water coming down the rocks was moving faster than the water spinning in the pool.

Allows Edits? Nothanks @elax, i wanted f/14 because i was focus stacking. at f/8 on the whirlpool i ended up with 21 images to stack. the lens was pretty close to the water, the bottom edge of the whirlpool image is slightly out of focus since it was closer than the minimum focusing distance. at f/14 (and a a few more inches of distance between the camera and rocks) i ended up with 6 images to stack.

Allows Edits? Yesspirals happen naturally yet they are hard to see them used as compositional tools, great shot mate! 🤯
