Allows Edits? YesStay safe Elin! I was there couple of weeks ago, there was plenty off steam coming from the cracks from the last flow. Hope it all calms down and everyone can get back to a normal life. It is such a stunning place to visit.

Allows Edits? YesThanks Patrick. It was -9 first few days. The top one was just before the skies clouded over and the snow came. Actually was thinking, wouldn’t it be funny if I bumped in to Elin. It was her photographs that made me want to go and have a look.

Allows Edits? YesI might sound a bit daft, but try turning some of them upside down. Not so much the ones that have an obvious hang. Just to have a different perspective. Sometime it is surprising how different the image looks.

Allows Edits? YesThe background will blur with a few things, wide open aperture, distance between the subject and the background, movement of the pan in respect to the speed of the riders, and the static background. This one was a similar angle to your shot. F5 1/200 sec ISO 180 focal length 80mm.
The pan was on an angle to the riders and quite slow. The riders where at about 40 mph

Allows Edits? YesI think this is a pretty good effort. If you are after the sense of speed and motion, get the shutter speed down to around 1/125 or a bit lower. Start around F/4, burst mode. Adjust the ISO to the lighting. Use Continuous Autofocus. All this will isolate the subject. Next bit is the tricky part, the panning. Pick a spot on the cyclist I usually focus on the head as it is relatively fixed, and keep the focus point all the way through the pan. Then shoot away! Of course there are many other ways to set up, but I found this helped me with getting the panning better.
