It’s 10° this morning in Minneapolis and we’re recovering from a small blizzard the other day. I found this while looking back on a trip to South Carolina a few summers back. Ah, remember the warm weather.
Enjoy!

I did some more poking around, the issue is definitely with Photoshop. There seems to be something off with these layers. It’s like it stops. Short. I’ve never seen that before.
I’ve used this technique in the past without a problem. Any ideas?

First, thanks for your feedback.
I took another attempt at this photo and took your feedback and approached it with a simpler mind. I took out the vignette and burning around the right side, and just let the photo sort of “be”. I kept the…[Read more]

Thanks for clarifying. I had a suspicion as such. I’m always learning, watching YouTube and reading websites and there are so many different views and philosophies that it is hard to find one that is “right”. Perhaps “right” isn’t the best way to think of it. Perhaps the best tool and approach is the one that produces the image…[Read more]

Here is a photo I’ve been working in Lightroom and Photoshop. I am able to make ‘global’ adjustments and even some ‘channel’ adjustments, but I’m interested in learning how I can perform a particular edit. This phot may or may not need it, but I’d like to experiment with it all the same.
I’m interested in learning a technique where I can enhance…[Read more]

Hi,
I’m working in Photoshop and I want to make a custom vignette. I’m getting used to all the layers and blend modes. I’ve found a few tutorials that have provided some insights, but I can’t get the results I want that isn’t destructive.
I want to make a custom vignette – on my photo, but I can’t seem to find the right layer and blend mode to…[Read more]

I am very proud of this image. For reasons that may not seem obvious. This image represents growth in my skills and confidence in my post-processing abilities.
I enjoy photography and editing, it brings me joy to capture a scene and make creative adjustments to tell a story. I enjoy using Lightroom and Photoshop to create a scene that represents…[Read more]

I read your posts and then did some Googling and found some videos tonight. This one was the most impressive and the most instructive. I can see now the power of this new approach using Photoshop. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNv8XXuhtbA&ab_channel=JimWelninski)
Here is my new edit. It’s got some more life and not so…[Read more]

Here is my latest photo. I did some work in Lightroom and Nik Silver EF. I’m pleased, but not “happy” with the results. I think there is too much contrast in the lower hay bales. I ran it through deNoise AI too. I’ve included the original if anyone would like to take a turn at it.
I wanted to showcase the shadows, but I couldn’t quite get it…[Read more]

I think it’s because I have a 6MP camera and the image was cropped. Plus I processed it in Nik to get the B&W feel. This is an older image. Before I really new Lightroom. If I had to guess I was using LR 3. =)

Hi, I’m Daniel Krueger, I’m from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m an armature and love taking photos. It brings me joy and provides me the relief I need from the work-a-day rat race and allows me to view nature and relax. Keep an eye out for my photos!
