@grizzly really like the image, if you are using Lightroom ( I think you mentioned you are) you could try dropping the highlights and making the road a little blacker.. I’d love to see a bigger version if you have one loitering around somewhere
@admin, I went on a photo workshop and the professional who was running it put a vignette on nearly…[Read more]

@jpninanjohn when people smile there is a tendancy for the eyes to scrunch up, try getting them not to smile especially if you are going to convert to black and white ๐ also consider using fill flash or a reflector if you have limited time or to bounce more light onto the face, failing that a decent lighting kit..

Ed Aldridge replied to the topic Birds Eye in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 9y, 8mo ago
Hi @scottwinzenried no major comments on this image as it sounds like you got the shot you wanted, the only thing I would have done differently is to position the birds eye a little further to the left so you were showing more of the beak and also it would remove the dark triangle at the top right of the image.
You could also maybe boost the…[Read more]

@mirudusha I’m not sure if it is my eyesite or the size of the picture but I can’t tell he is a fisherman. Do you have a full size version somewhere I can look at?
If you have the chance to take this again consider putting him on the right of the picture a little more and get closer either physically or using the telephoto once you have it, at…[Read more]

Ed Aldridge replied to the topic The navigator โ let me have your comments pls in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 9y, 8mo ago
@sengupta it is a great idea and one that you should return to but it is a little difficult to place him as a navigator or that he is on a boat as there is not much of the boat included in the shot. If you could move back a little further to include more of the boat in the image I think it would be more in keeping with the theme you have chosen.…[Read more]

@mirudusha it is a good portrait with a lot going for it, I wonder how it would have looked with a reflector or low power flash pointing at her face on to provide some fill light?
The only slight problems I can see with the new edit is you have hot spots next to her eye and collar bone that look blown out and reducing the exposure has brought…[Read more]

Devils DykeI took a couple of hours off family responsibilities and the routine of a normal weekend to go on a little walk in and around Devils Dyke in West Sussex (UK). Although I was more interested in the experience than the result I was pretty pleased with some of the shots I got, especially as I don’t normally do landscape..

@jonostan continuing your theme of girls in colour co-ordination with doors using 50mm prime lenses, I snapped this in Carnaby Street last Friday ๐ I wish I had had the time to ask her to pose but I was with the wife in a hurry so was just snapping candids along the way

@jonostan most photography magazines I’ve read say that most people don’t mind you asking to take their picture so all in all I wouldn’t worry about it, you have had much more success than I have, I’ll have to join you on a shoot someday so I can see you technique ๐ The picture you got it great, you spotted some areas of improvement yourself…[Read more]
