Robert, yes, some places have jalapeno jam. McDonalds even has it in little packets like catsup. It’s kinda like grits in the the southern US, you get it with everything. Occasionally it’s nice to have a change of pace so I order 200 packets of Smuckers jam from amazon and I take it with me.

The crop was from the camera. I had to re-learn how to add to the canvas. Is this better?
Jim, I should have said breakfast appetizer. I’m with you I need protein and caffeine to face the day.

The colors on the black table jumped out when the waiter set it down. Kinda disappointing for a gringo from up north as I would like marmalade to spread on the bread, not hot sauce.

Hi guys. The only edit I see from Patrick is BW.
Robert, the dappled light was screamingly bright desert sunlight. Maybe I over did correcting it and I will look at processing it again even with my limited processing skills.
Good to hear from you Frank! If you didn’t notice the dappled light I guess I accomplished what I set out to do whi…[Read more]

Hi Jim, I like the shot but it’s hard to tell what is happening without your explanation. Is the guy on the left holding a clip board and taking a survey or a sketch pad. Try for a shot over the sketchers shoulder showing the sketch. I don’t think the table needs to be cleaned up at all is shows the environment. I don’t much care for the look…[Read more]

Anne, this is interesting but I think it needs a focal point.

Thanks for the comments! I have hundreds of photos of murals but wanted to show the building in this one. I took this from way below with a 10 mm lens and had to correct lots of distortion. I will give it another try.

A large paint company sponsored 29 famous Mexican artists to come here and do street art. They paid travel, food and lodging expenses as well as provided paint. We took a walking tour and was glad to do it as there is some much going on in each mural that it was nice to have someone point out some of the stuff. Usually, I’m not too happy wi…[Read more]

Thanks for the ideas group! Janeska, I was on my morning bike ride and was using a pocket camera set on the PHD mode, push here dummy, but a lower POV would have made a BIG difference. I should have taken the time to use manual kinda like a photographer!
Anne, yes, I have a wide angle, and a super wide angle but I don’t carry a DSLR and full k…[Read more]

I am struggling with shooting photos in my new home. I know it sounds weird but things almost look to perfect for the street photographer in me. Kinda vanilla. This is pretty much from the camera but I did dehaze the horizon a touch and do minor basics in Lightroom. No waves here as we are on a giant bay on the Sea of Cortez in La Paz (translates…[Read more]

Jasenka, thanks! I can see that there are possibilities with the color shot. After my 6 month hiatus from photography I will make it a project to re-learn how to replace the background or reshoot. Any more suggestions? Thanks again!

I’m experimenting with glamour shots. I stood on a ladder. Suggestions? 1/200, f2.8, iso400

I too prefer the color. The BW looks like you just did an easy one click conversion so it looks kinda flat with no personality. For the type of photo you are looking for the color would probably be more appropriate.

Rob and Dahlia. Thanks so much for the input. I agree that it should have a subject. Lying in wait sounds like a good idea Rob but it wouldn’t work at this location as I can only get about 2 meters back from the door. There is tons of other wall art here. I need to find a good one with a sidewalk cantina across the street and sip a beer while waiting.
