Hi Barb. Looks technically good but compo is lacking an obvious subject. I have read that the subject should be half to 3/4 of what attracts the eye and have some interest. My eye can’t find anything to stop and look at.

I agree with Frank. Lower left. The guy with the dog has a posed caught in the headlights look. The two guys on bikes are, well, boring. Three of the photos are of rear ends again. Faces add interest and personality.
OK you guys, I wondered about the duck too. It does seem to be a bit of a distraction but I kinda like it. I’m going to put this in a show so I guess I will remove it. Thanks for the nice comments!

Hi Rob, I feel the same. We have tons of “wall art” here and it’s just very tempting. When possible I try to add something to it like the dog with the D.Q. that you commented on. But it’s still other people’s art. I thought of adding someone on the bench but I didn’t have the time (or willing person) and I’m not sure if that would have work…[Read more]
The lines going from edge to edge are nice. I like to see peoples faces but not so much the other end. It feels crooked, if he is wearing jeans your processing is way over done. The plants on the wall are a blob of black with no character.
IMO, the only thing in the photo that looks much like autumn is the band of orange leaves on the bottom edge of the photo and they are more of a distraction than a subject being on the edge like that but the do attract the eye.
I’m no landscape shooter but cropping out the bottom edge would look nice for me, but not Autumn-ish.
