Hi everyone, I feel a bit overwhelmed by all of the insightful comments and suggestions, it is all very much appreciated.
@federicoalegria Federico, your really nice comments about the colour palette (right image) and her expression are reassuring. Yes, I became aware later that the sun was in her eyes on the left. If the right oppo…[Read more]

Thanks @el-dub Mmm, not sure about the sillhouette, but will give it a try, Lenny.
Thanks @dahliaambrose, wow, great spotting re the front shot not being the best, I will definitely look carefully for the best one at the end of my next shoot!

Jasenka @jasenkag – Thanks for your comments! Yes, you are right the overexposed parts of the image, ie the flames, cannot be fixed.
Lenny @el-dub – thanks for your comments, too! In recent times I have basically forgotten about the possibility of bracketing the exposure, so it is a very timely reminder. Will have to get the option back into my…[Read more]

@el-dub I’m not sure if this is what your after Lenny, I do this with photos as silhouettes before processing on the vinyl plotter.
In Photoshop open two windows with your image in it, on one of them under the image tab then mode ,change the mode to indexed color, I used these settings.
then change it back to RGB color.
Then clicking on the…[Read more]

@el-dub Lenny I cropped your shot as a suggestion for the image you took. For a wide angle, it could be fun to put a beach towel down closer to the water facing the guy &umbrella on your right, then from the ground perspective try a 15mm focal length to see what you can capture.
Here is an example of a shot from sand up with 15 mm., which I l…[Read more]

@el-dub Wow, the color shot looks much more vibrant, which is great!
The background replacement has some issues, I can see semi-transparent artifacts and I’m not sure if the pink works well with the red dress. I’d experiment with background colors a bit more.

Hi there @el-dub, the original version is quite pleasing already, no need for extra enhancements. Also, I love that pure black shape from the cracked window! It really adds a narrative layer to the finding.

@el-dub Hi Lenny, I don’t think there’s too much space on the top. The only thing that bothers me here are the verticals and horizontals – I think you can try to straighten them a bit in Lightroom.

First, thanks for your feedback.
I took another attempt at this photo and took your feedback and approached it with a simpler mind. I took out the vignette and burning around the right side, and just let the photo sort of “be”. I kept the…[Read more]
