More definition needed on the back side of his head to separate the hat/back of head from black background. You could have used a rim light, or slightly illuminated the black background to create a little separation. It doesn’t need to be much, just enough to define the shape a little.Check It Out
Hi @carolinen . It looks like light is coming from behind the cop. You can see light on the back of his shoulders, and the edge of his hat, and his whole front is in shadow. So maybe find an urban image that is very bright or overexposed for the background. All you need is a little texture behind him, but whatever it is it needs to feel like…[Read more]
Love this character and his costume! I agree with that what is missing is something in the background. Not necessarily interesting, but something that gives the feeling that he is not posing in front of a white background, and something preferably urban. I like the brick background of all these the best, but the lighting doesn’t match the…[Read more]
What I like:
Love the bird and motion of the wings while the rest of the body is in sharp focus.
Love the colors of the seagull and the light from behind.
What I don’t like:
The hand in the shot
The cut off seagull
The composition overall
Although it has some nice elements I feel the overall photo looks like a lucky snapshot.…[Read more]

We tend to want to capture the entire wide scene, but zooming into a smaller area frequently gets you a better, more interesting composition. I am definitely guilty of that, and have to…[Read more]
@larner , just providing a little info on what you would like to know about your photos is always helpful. Camera settings are good as well. It helps the sharks better focus their (our) assaults more precisely. Otherwise the comments may be too broad to be of any help to you.
Overall it is a nice photo, but it has several flaws that would…[Read more]
@larner , I don’t think it is a bad image overall.
It looks like a modeling photo, so for that I would crop out the little man completely. He draws too much attention away from the model. But I would leave some of the vertical corrugated metal because I think it looks interesting. Her pose is nice but I would have her second leg show as…[Read more]
I think that is very cool. I’ve seen hundreds of photos of the milky way, and have taken many also. It never changes. I think they are much more interesting when combined with landmarks, clouds, and other scenery. Very nice. If the larger image is clean and sharp, I think this is a stunner. Nicely done.
Maybe a tad bit more foreground…[Read more]
