Crowded skies at a Miami intersection. This is not an uncommon sight in South Florida, where it seems ALL birds come to spend the winter.
I took this from my car as I was driving by. It was twilight, so the light was vanishing fast.

You’re right @gaganred . The brighter exposure does eliminate the sparkle of the reflections a little. The nose one was a little too hot. I agree with everyone who said this. The eyes are wet, so a strong catchlight reflection there looks natural and healthy, but the one on the nose feels like it needs to be toned down a bit. Check It Out

Ok. Here is my shot. Not sure if it an improvement but here it is. I tried to keep that feeling of a divine light shining on his/her face. I felt the square crop worked, since in the original there is a lot of black on the sides of the frame that seem to add nothing.
The RAW file was very underexposed. You definitely needed more…[Read more]

That seems off as well. If he is drawing her, why are they sitting side-by-side on the bench? They should be facing eachother, at least slightly. It seems like she photobombed the moment, as if his subject is sitting somewhere across from him, not beside him. So maybe the camera angle is also not ideal. It feels like two separate stories (to…[Read more]

I was going to suggest an exposure enhancement. @Pmarione did what I was thinking. This has revealed what looks like sloppy over burning to the left of her face (just at her face’s edge), or a very strong vignette, however.
If you were trying to conceal background objects, then that in itself is something you could do different the next…[Read more]

I’m sorry, but this one doesn’t do much for me. I think the subject is minimally interesting at best. In fact I find the story more interesting than the photograph, and without the story it feels like just a common snapshot (which is not a bad thing if that’s what it is).
Compositionally her cut off feet bother me, as well as the amount of…[Read more]

Thank you @myrk . but none of it was intimidating, and after all this is the Shark Tank. Trust me, I have given out strong opinions myself, and I have no problem receiving them. Everything I have heard is absolutely valid and exactly the objective opinions I was looking for.
Thank you for your comments, and for everyone’s opinions as well.…[Read more]

@tonyb55 – I can’t say that I am as skilled as I would like to be to control all these things well. All I can say is that I was using an 85mm lens on a crop sensor camera, which makes it a significant zoom, and that when I stepped back enough to get more of the body, I was so far back that she didn’t even know I was there. I took several shots…[Read more]

Thanks to all. @caimi this is what I was unsure about. When I took the photo the concept was clear. She was shooting arrows at a target, and putting the next to be shot arrow in her mouth. When she saw me taking a picture she posed. I purposely placed myself so that her head was in front of the black area in the background, so her wild hairs…[Read more]

The Archer (critique)
I would love to hear comments on the compositional aspects of this photo. To me it works, but I would love to hear objective points of view as well, and if you feel it doesn’t, why.

Yes, I think lighting wise that is better, but I still think that the background is not urban enough. Better, though.Check It Out

Fred Furze replied to the topic Which one is the best in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 10y, 4mo ago
I like number 3 the best. I would still bring in a little more detail into the really black shadow areas in the center and lower right, and a little more under the toes.

#1 as mentioned above the sun and reflections are completely and extremely over blown. It looks like you may have enhanced the exposure to bring out detail in the rock that is in the foreground, and by doing this really blew out the sun, etc. If this is the case you can try stacking a couple of the same photo at different exposure values, and use…[Read more]

1. Don’t like the shadow from the camera mounted flash. A reflector or second flash to fill in the shadow would have eliminated this.
2. Don’t like the color temperature. It’s all looking a little too yellow/green. I would suggest a little cooler temperature.
3. His black hair is blending into the black sky in areas. A rim light to create…[Read more] - Load More
